When a predator bites at the tail, the shingleback turns around and bites back! The shingleback has a tail with the same shape as its head. This makes the lizard look bigger and scarier. When enemies are near, the lizard opens its mouth, unveiling a wide frill. While some change colors and have sharp scales for defense, others change their appearance to look more threatening. Lizards are probably the most bizarre looking animals in the desert. Other desert snakes include the cobra, kingsnake and the hognose.
If the predator isn't careful, the rattlesnake will inject venom with its sharp fangs. Rattlesnakes have a noisy rattle they use to warn enemies to stay away. Many species of rattlesnakes can be found in the desert. There are two main types of desert reptiles: snakes and lizards. Reptiles can withstand the extreme temperatures because they can control their body temperatures very easily. Reptiles are some of the most interesting creatures of the desert. Each member of the family gets killed of one by one after each night.

I'm amazed at the plastic snakes used is some of the older "cops style" TV shows. Quality is the biggest obstacle, as many snake movies are just outright bad. Whether it's a giant snake or swarms of little ones, both serve their movies well. As a big fan of monster movies, I'm always game for a good snake film. There's nothing like a good snake to goose up a film.
